Welcome to Small Town Christmas 2013
“The Official Small Town Christmas Event of Texas!”
Small Town Christmas is still celebrating today and tomorrow. Don’t forget we kick off with the First National Bank Baking Contest today at noon. Yes, the weather should clear a bit and we will be having a very cold start to Small Town Christmas. What a great way to set the mood for our family celebration….
Preparations are well underway for this year’s 31st Annual Small Town Christmas on Friday, December 6 & Saturday, December 7, 2013. We are proud to share some big news; with the help of Senator Glenn Hegar and Representative Lois Kolkhorst, The Texas Legislature has designated this event as “The Official Small Town Christmas Event of Texas”.
Small Town Christmas is a longstanding tradition in our community and we invite you to join us in our Christmas Celebration. It’s an excellent opportunity to make new Holiday Memories and share the Christmas Spirit with family, friends and loved ones.
Small Town Christmas comes to life on Friday with the Holiday Baking Contest & Sale sponsored by First National Bank of Bellville. The 6th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, sponsored by Wal-Mart Distribution Center #7036, will light up the night in Bellville as it circles through town. You may even run into Santa Claus or Scrooge! You are invited to stroll around town and enjoy the decorated shops open for late night shopping complete with wassail, cocoa and cookies.
Saturday offers even more Holiday Delights such as Breakfast with Santa at Newman’s Bakery, Pictures with Santa, Gingerbread House Decorating at the Bellville Cafe and sponsored by ACME Brick, and the Children’s Wonderland sponsored by Eberly Ranch, LKL Insurance Group, Inc., Texas ENT & Allergy, Chuck & Rita Scianna, Barbara & Roberto Iglesias, and Mill Creek Land & Cattle Company, Ltd. & Wal-Mart Distribution Center #7036! Parents, get an early start on your Christmas shopping with over 60 Market Day Vendors. Revel in the early morning musical offerings of our Bellville Junior High and High School Bands and Choirs. Local recording artist and KTEX radio personality Troy Arndt will be our host for the Saturday’s events and we’ll even have the KTEX Country Cruiser here! Our children’s Christmas Traditions will continue with our very own Bellville United Methodist Youth Choir performing at the brand new, beautiful, Jim Bishop Pavilion in the Mini Park Parking lot. The Children’s Wonderland will have treats like Pony Rides and Petting Zoo along with Bubble Runners and more! On the south side of the square the Austin County Jail Museum will be open for tours. Scrooge may be seen strolling around the Square, and you might even talk Scrooge out of a few pence! The Austin County Chapter of the American Cancer Society will host their Holiday Homes Tour Saturday & Sunday, December 7th & 8th. We have the sights and sounds of Christmas scheduled throughout the weekend of Small Town Christmas, so come and enjoy a weekend of Old Fashioned Christmas Traditions. Don’t miss Bellville’s 31st Annual Small Town Christmas!
